Transmission of COVID-19 in Public and Private Schools in Benghazi, Libya: 13th -28th February 2021

The aim of the present study was to provide a national estimate for transmission COVID-19 Cases in public and private schools Benghazi city Eastern region Libya. A multistage procedure followed obtain representative sample students teaching staffs at randomly selected across resultant consisted 101 schools, 808 students, 202 staff members. Data were collected on age, sex, class, symptoms COVID19. Rapid antigen test performed as diagnostic SARS-CoV-2 detect presence viral antigen. Specimen taken from upper nasopharyngeal swab. Out tested, 5 specimens positive. Every positive rapid further confirmed by PCR test. All Specimens members negative. This survey highlights epidemiological concern among school setting Benghazi. Implementation compliance with prevention measures are crucial.
